Most of my consultation clients are folks who travel around the U.S. or live and travel abroad. This model allows clients to continue their own introspection wherever they are. Having access to an individually curated Google Folder that includes a shared journal, various readings, podcasts, and other suggestions that are tailored to their goals and interests provides opportunities for greater insight, thought provoking questions, and feedback between sessions.

Therapy

What is it? Why do I feel anxious with even the idea of pursuing therapy?

These are complicated and important questions. Therapy is an unusual experience…You call a stranger, you decide whether or not to meet this stranger in their office, and the person asks you questions about your life that evoke the uncomfortable feelings you are wishing you didn’t feel. And feeling these feelings is often the reason people consider therapy: They want to feel different.

There are risks to therapy; mainly, feeling discomfort and the unknown of how feeling all these feelings in this process may actually support you. While I don’t know the outcome of your therapy process, I hope you will develop a greater capacity for tolerating difficult feelings, become a better communicator about your needs in relationships, feel more connected in your relationship to self and with others, and achieve whatever personal goals you may have in mind.

If you have the time and interest, you have the option to choose a few therapists that appear to be a match and inquire about a possible “Meet & Greet.” The intent of these brief meetings is to give you the opportunity to experience the office space and get a sense of the therapist’s demeanor while evaluating your comfort level. Please know, you don’t have to settle for the first therapist you meet.

As a certified Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator (TCTSY-F), I am able to also offer yoga as a movement intervention for complex trauma. If you’d like to learn more about TCTSY, feel free to click on the “TCTSY” icon on the top right of this page.
